I believe that healing takes place when a reconnection with your authentic self occurs.

Biography

I believe that healing takes place when a reconnection with your authentic self takes place.  This only happens if people are free of addiction, and work to heal themselves a layer at a time. I also bring 25 years of personal sobriety to my work. I know first-hand what it’s like to go through recovery, and stay in it!

I have been licensed as a Marriage Family Therapist since 2006. I received a BA in English from the University of California Los Angeles and a MA in Counseling Psychology from the University of Santa Monica.

In my private practice and 10 years’ experience at Scripps Behavioral Health Intensive Outpatient Clinic, I’ve worked with individuals struggling with Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Dual Diagnosis, Alcohol and Drug Dependence, Trauma, Grief and Loss, Divorce, Codependency, Women’s Issues and Relationship Problems.

My therapeutic lens is founded in utilizing the work of Brené Brown, 12-Step Recovery, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindful Self-Compassion to treat the core issues of human suffering. I work with adults 18 and up, and have a deep understanding of the pain caused by the loss of self that occurs in a dysfunctional family system. For you this disconnection may be showing up as anger, addiction, anxiety, depression, perfectionism, difficulty maintaining relationships, choosing the “wrong” person, loneliness and isolation, feeling out of control of your life, feeling trapped in a situation you don’t really want to be in, experiencing grief/loss or going through a life transition, among others.
